HGH Injections and How They Work
HGH or Human Growth Hormone, which is somatotropin in medical terms, is a hormone released by the pituitary gland in the brain that helps stimulate the growth and reproduction of cells in humans and in some animals. As we age, the levels of HGH decline. Because of this, there have been alternatives to help increase the production of HGH like the HGH injections, which are synthetic.
HGH injections can be quite costly, with the prices ranging from $800 to $3,000 every month. HGH, though not an anabolic steroid, has very similar effects. While anabolic steroids are synthetic, HGH is natural as it is naturally produced and released by the pituitary gland. This is why athletes who are trying to build more muscle and muscle strength in an easy way use HGH injections. Also, it cannot be detected in urine drug tests. Unfortunately, some athletes abuse HGH injections because of these benefits.
HGH injections are made up of a powder which is then mixed with a bacteriostatic kind of water before being put in a syringe. It also requires refrigeration and can only be stable for a short time after it has been reconstituted. To avoid side effects, dosages of these HGH injections should be given in smaller amounts, at a more frequent time. The prescribed dosage is 4 to 8 IU (international units) every week, which consists of 2 doses per day and 6 days in a week. The patients then learn how to give themselves the injection which should be done upon waking up in the morning and before going to bed at time.
It is important not to take the injections on the 7th day. It is important however to note that dosages should be prescribed depending on the patient’s age or condition. Older patients usually require a smaller amount of HGH injections. For safety purposes, a prescription should always be required before taking any dosage.
